Welcome to Ashtanga Yoga: A Journey of Transformation

Hello, I’m Amruta Thakkar, founder of Ashtanga Yoga. My yoga journey began six years ago, driven by a simple goal: to lose weight. Little did I know that this initial step would transform my life in ways I never imagined. Along the way, I discovered a profound passion for yoga and a calling to inspire and empower women.

Starting with various yoga classes and earning certifications as a yoga practitioner, I delved into diverse styles including Vinyasa, Power Yoga, and Advanced Asanas. In 2021, I took my practice online, offering specialized weight loss yoga classes while continuing my own training. This dedication helped me achieve a remarkable transformation, reducing my weight from 125 kg to 75 kg.

My mission now is to share the benefits of yoga with other women and help them embrace it as a daily practice. Through this blog, I aim to provide valuable insights and practical tips to guide you on your own journey. Yoga has become an integral part of my life, and my goal is to make it a transformative practice for you as well.
